On the Mapu product team, we specialize in implementing data-driven solutions and models for project development, risk management, and decision-making processes in the fields of carbon credits, sustainable energy, agriculture, and forestry investments across Africa. As part of our commitment to innovation, we are seeking a talented intern to join our team and contribute to our mission.

We are offering a 2-month internship opportunity for individuals passionate about leveraging AI models, particularly LLM (Language and Learning Models), to improve data collection methods and support the implementation of data-driven solutions in the realm of sustainable investments. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced team, collaborating on various projects and initiatives across multiple sectors in Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research on data collection methodologies, tools, and technologies for sustainable investments.
• Analyze and evaluate existing data sources and propose improvements for efficient data collection.
• Develop and implement AI models, specifically LLM models, to enhance data collection processes.
• Collaborate with the team to integrate AI models into project development, risk management, and decision-making frameworks.
• Assist in data analysis, visualization, and reporting to support informed decision-making.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and data science related to sustainable investments.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of AI models, particularly LLM models, and their applications.
• Familiarity with data collection methodologies, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Passion for sustainability, environmental conservation, and social impact.
